As moms, all we want is a healthy baby : One who eats, sleeps and is safe in our arms. But instead of celebrating this little miracle, people sometimes reduce everything to skin color. It’s exhausting. It’s unfair and honestly, it’s hurtful. We don’t talk about it enough on how these comments can trigger anxiety and self-doubt. You're already trying to figure out breastfeeding, healing, sleepless nights and now someone wants you to worry about how your baby looks. Skin color is not a flaw.
It’s not something a mom “caused” or “could’ve fixed” with some saffron milk. Your baby’s skin tone comes from a beautiful mix of genetics passed down through generations. Even science doesn’t fully know how it all works. So how can anyone judge something so natural and uncontrollable and yeah they do. It’s women who get judged first. From the day we’re born — how we look, how we talk, what we wear, who we marry and now, how our baby looks too? Enough is enough.
Let’s stop this cycle of judgment. Let’s raise babies who grow up confident in their skin.
Let’s not forget Moms’ who silently struggle, There are many changes mentally and physically during and after pregnancy. Moms constently feel ugly and have self doubt what if am not enough for my baby which deeply affects mom’s sense of self worth.
Motherhood isn’t a single women job, it’s okay to ask help because it really does take a village to raise a child and emotionally healthy mother is the heart of that village.
